Who We Are

 

ABC is a Non-profit 501(c)(3) program in Montgomery County providing scheduled/monitored contact between the child(ren) and non-residential parent/family member while supporting non-violence in the family.

    Reasons for Referral

·        Parties mutually agree   ·        Court ordered   ·        Domestic violence

·        Sexual/physical abuse   ·        Drug/alcohol abuse   ·        Mental heath issues

·        Flight risk   ·       Reunification     CPS plan     

 

What ABC Offers

    Monitored Visits

·        Neutral monitoring in a safe conflict-free environment

·        Multi-family and/or one-to-one schedule

·        Consistent enforcement of the rules for all participants

·        No contact between the parties

·        Affirmation to the children that they are not alone, normalizing the situation as much as possible

·        Therapeutic counseling (upon request as scheduled separately)

·        Visit observation reports and/or testimony provided upon request (additional fees apply)

·        Uniformed officer for multi-family visits

       Monitored Exchange

·        On-site location

·        Scheduled according to family & court-ordered need

·       By appointment only and scheduled in advance

       Parent/Visit Coaching
  • Coordinated with your CPS caseworker
  • Willis and New Caney Locations
  • Provided by funding from Community Development Block Grant (10/01/09 to 09/30/10)

 

      When and Where

  • Multifamily visits are similar to spending time with the child in a day care setting

·        Supervised by trained monitors

·        Thursday evenings (when stated in order/agreement)

·        1st, 3rd, & 5th Saturdays 8a to Noon

·        Light snack provided

·        Staggered arrival and departure times ensure no contact between custodial and non-custodial parties

·       Indoor and outdoor activity time

Note:  All fees must be kept current and all polices must be followed for continued participation

 

ABC presents an opportunity to pro actively build/re-build positive relationships by facilitating a safe, conflict-free atmosphere for parent time with children.
